𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽. 🎉 Today at the NMBLR office in Salcedo, Makati, Junior and Senior High School students did something most adults still haven't done: they sat down, identified real-world problems worth solving, aligned their ideas with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and built working web app prototypes using Google AI Suite, Gemini, and AI Studio, all in a single day. Before participants touched a single tool, they went through a structured session on critical thinking and problem solving, learned how to write a Product Requirements Document (PRD) as the first real step of their development process, and immediately got to apply it to their own projects. Every prototype built today was grounded in purpose and structure, not just output. That is what PROMPTWARS was designed to do. Not just teach students how to prompt an AI, but train them to think like builders first: define the problem, frame the solution, write the requirements, then use the technology to bring it to life. The energy, the pitches, and the ideas that came out of today's event proved that Filipino students are more than ready for that challenge. DEVCON Kids is also on the ground today showcasing their creative cardboard robots: Aiko, CrabBot, Botterfly, Helicopter, and Forklift are all at the event, giving participants a firsthand look at what student-built robotics actually looks like in real life. These robots were built by real student hands as part of DEVCON Kids' Creative Robotics program, proof that you don't need a fancy lab or a computer science degree to build something that moves, responds, and inspires. What does it mean to lead in the age of AI? DEVCON Philippines Founder and President Winston Damarillo put it plainly during the NEXUS Pilot AI Training: "You have the capacity and the ability to wield the power of the world's most knowledgeable coders. The mission changes a little bit — what you need to think about now is: what can you do with it?" The pilot NEXUS AI Training, provided by NMBLR and personally led by Winston Damarillo, opened with a nationwide hybrid morning keynote connecting DEVCON chapter heads from Bukidnon, Pampanga, Legazpi, and beyond. The sessions covered the evolution of open source in the age of AI, cultivating T-shaped skills, and keeping humans in the loop as skeptical auditors of AI output. Leaders got hands-on with Claude, Qwen, and Antigravity as core tools for multiplying community impact nationwide. The training wrapped with a three-hour live hackathon where teams built real solutions using the full Nexus stack: Claude, Qwen, Ollama, Antigravity, and Google AI Suite, aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals #4, 8, 9, and 16. At DEVCON Jumpstart, Lady Casilang (Project Management & Blockchain Smart Contracts Track), Allyza Goyon (Project Management and Creative Robotics Track), Hernel "Kenshin" Juanico (AI Engineering Track), and Kien Serapio (Product Design & Studios Creatives) took the Demo Day stage powered by the Triple Diamond AIDLC and hundreds of hours of showing up.
