At DEVCON Jumpstart, Lady Casilang (Project Management & Blockchain Smart Contracts Track), Allyza Goyon (Project Management and Creative Robotics Track), Hernel "Kenshin" Juanico (AI Engineering Track), and Kien Serapio (Product Design & Studios Creatives) took the Demo Day stage powered by the Triple Diamond AIDLC and hundreds of hours of showing up. Cohort 3 is also DEVCON Jumpstart's first batch to pilot the brand new AI Engineering Track — a milestone that marks a new direction for how the program trains the next generation of Filipino builders tackling national-scale challenges using Claude Code, Google AI, and Sui Smart Contracts, alongside industry-based AI practitioners, inside the Philippines' largest tech non-profit. 🚀 From Intramuros to Nationwide: The Move Smart Code Camp Movement Continues! Looking back at March 28, 2026, the national kickoff of the Move Smart Code Camp officially took flight with a massive pilot at Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros. Volunteers from DEVCON Manila dedicated their time and expertise to running 3 parallel classrooms simultaneously, giving participants an invaluable opportunity to dive deep into the Sui ecosystem, build portfolios, explore Web3, and write their first Sui Move smart contracts. What spark started in the historic walls of Intramuros is now officially igniting a nationwide movement. Following that incredible launch, code camps have already been successfully completed in Bukidnon and Iloilo, and the momentum is moving faster than ever. Next up on the nationwide schedule, upcoming code camps are heading to Laguna and Pampanga as we continue creating intentional access to blockchain education and mentorship across the country. 🚀 NEXUS Pilot AI Training for DEVCON PH Leaders 🚀 The pilot NEXUS AI Training, provided by NMBLR and personally led by DEVCON Founder and President Winston Damarillo, kicked off with nationwide hybrid morning keynotes that connected AI-enabled tech leaders from Bukidnon, Pampanga, Legazpi, and beyond. This session gathered chapter heads to build a unified foundation for AI-ready communities. The training focused on the evolution of open source in the age of AI, emphasizing the importance of sharing code and playbooks while maintaining humans in the loop as skeptical auditors. A core focus was cultivating "T-shaped skills" among our leaders—ensuring they possess deep technical capability paired with a broad understanding that spans across product, QA, design, and business. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals #4, 8, 9, and 16, the training ended with a three-hour hackathon where teams built live solutions using the Nexus stack (Claude, Qwen, Ollama, Antigravity, and Google AI Suite).
