Empowering Mindanao through Tech

Growing up in the vibrant heart of Mindanao, I was always fascinated by the power of technology to transform lives and communities. My passion for tech ignited during my early school years, where I saw how digital solutions could address local challenges.

This passion grew during college when we started bringing DevCon to Iligan and I began volunteering. I saw firsthand how tech could empower people, especially the youth, just as it had empowered me when I became a scholar of RISTT in Lanao del Norte. During my scholarship, I witnessed that learning new technologies is not just for the youth but also for those who have retired. In our batch of scholars, I was the youngest at 17, and the oldest was 54. Despite the age difference, she kept up with the new tech and we both excelled, with me being awarded Top 1 and her Top 2.

Volunteering for DevCon Iligan became a natural extension of this passion, allowing me to give back to the community that shaped me. Through my volunteer work, I aim to inspire and equip the next generation of tech enthusiasts in Mindanao, fostering innovation and resilience. Mindanao is not just my home; it’s a land of immense potential and talent, waiting to be unlocked through the collaborative efforts of passionate individuals like myself.
